关于headed to和heading to的用法区别

在美式英语对话中，我们经常会听到这样的英语表达：I’m headed to New York City. 也会听到这样的说法：I’m heading to New York City.两个句子的结构几乎没有区别，除了其中的一个动词head，一个用的是现在分词heading，另一个则用的是过去分词headed。那么这两个句子所表达的意思是否有区别呢？今天我们一起来学习。

如果你不是喜欢严格抠语法，headed和heading之间区别不是很大，很多人（包括部分native speaker）也会认为二者可以互换（interchangeable），而且两种说法都绝对正确。但如果深究起来，他们之间存在如下相当细微（甚至有时可以被忽略）的区别：

1. headed to表示被动，所以主语也常是无生命主体（inanimate subjects），表示被移动，比如：交通工具，The flight is headed to the northern part of the state. 而heading to，其主语更多的用于人，表示主动去往某地。She’s heading to the movie theater right now.

2. headed是动词的过去分词（past participle），过去分词分词形式常常被用做形容词（adjective），并且用来表示一种持续的状态（state），类似的用法如：She is married。而heading，我们知道是属于动词的现在分词（present participle），强调动作正在发生(action in progress)。headed to可能意味着朝向某个具体目的地或目标（target），但不一定当前就有动作在进行。而heading to，则强调动作（motion）正在进行中。
